Lessie Ahlers

	Lessie Ahlers, 87, of DuQuoin, went to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Tuesday, December 11, 2001 at 11:30 p.m. at the Alton Memorial Hospital.
	 She was born in Perry county on  April 14, 1914.  She was the daughter of Carl and Pearl (Lipe) Milligan.  She married Milton Ahlers in Chester on September 24, 1931.  He preceded her in death on August 31, 1973.
	She had been a resident of DuQuoin for 57 years.  She was a faithful member of the Old DuQuoin Baptist Church.  Her church family was very special to her.
	Surviving are two daughters and sons-in-law, Deloris and Dale Williams of Witchita, Kan. and Alice and Rev. David Morgan of Sesser; two sons and daughters-in-law, Rev. Allen and Imy Ahlers of Rosewood Heights and Bill and Carolyn Ahlers of Moro; one sister, Loretta Clark of DuQuoin; nine grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
	She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, one son and one brother.
	Visitation was at the Neal-McClure Funeral Home on Friday, December 14 from 5 to 8 p.m. and Saturday, December 15 from 7:30 to 9:30 a.m.  Funeral services were held at the Old DuQuoin Baptist church on Saturday at 11 a.m. with Rev. Ted Clark and Rev. allen Ahlers officiating.  Burial was in the Old DuQuoin Cemetery.
	 Memorials may be made to the Old DuQuoin Baptist Church.
